Here’s the simple truth about most Bluetooth headsets. They’re fine, as long as you accept their limits. Like their limited Bluetooth range. Their limited capabilities. And their painfully limited ability to deal with ambient noise.203835_Reveal_Pro_3-Qtr_Right_600x400-1.jpg

If you want more from your Bluetooth headset, VXi has some good news for you: the VXi BlueParrott® Reveal Pro™.  The Reveal Pro is the direct descendant of the VXi Reveal. In fact, it looks just like it. But the Reveal Pro features Class 1 Bluetooth, which gives it an extended, 300-foot range when paired with another Class 1 device. The Reveal Pro also adds VXi’s exclusive Parrott Button™, putting user-customization capabilities at your fingertip. And like the original Reveal, the Reveal Pro’s extendable microphone boom gives you the noise-canceling you need (up to 90%), depending on the noise level around you.

You also get HD Voice™, for clear, easy to understand conversations. You can stream music or GPS instructions from any Bluetooth device. And enjoy over 7 hours of talk time on a charge.

So don’t settle for other headsets’ limitations. Do more, with the VXi BlueParrott Reveal Pro.

The Evolution of Business Communications.

Posted on Mon, Jun 13, 2016 @ 08:00 AM

Frost & Sullivan, a well-respected global growth consulting firm, recently published a white paper titled The Evolution of Business Communications: Are You Ready to Drive Collaboration and Productivity? The paper begins with the dramatic increase in remote workers in the United States. (Their research indicates that 55% of employees work remotely, at least some of the time.) They’ve found that this change in the workplace is, as you might expect, fueling the demand for advanced unified communications and collaborations (UCC) tools. With that in mind, the paper goes on to discuss related changes in the workplace, along with the business challenges brought about by these changes. VXi_Evolution_Business_Graphic_01.png

That’s enough information for your average white paper, right there. But Frost & Sullivan go on to some very practical conclusions and suggestions. They outline the ways that professional headsets can make a difference, and their impact on productivity in a UCC-driven world. The paper concludes with recommendations on what to look for in a business headset.

The Evolution of Business Communications: Are You Ready to Drive Collaboration and Productivity? should be required reading for anyone in business today. VXi is making this valuable piece available free of charge—all you have to do is click on this link.

The Truth About Noise Canceling.

Posted on Thu, Jun 12, 2014 @ 04:10 PM

See The Difference VXi

When you’re shopping for a quality headset, the topic of noise canceling is sure to come up. A “noise canceling” headset uses a special microphone, designed for a noisy environment, whether it’s a contact center, a busy office, or the cab of an 18-wheeler. Noise-canceling microphones reduce background noise, so the person you’re talking to hears you, rather than the noise around you. And basically every noise-canceling headset you find will claim that it does the job effectively—so you might be tempted to think that as long as it says “noise canceling”, you’re covered.

But that’s far from the truth. Noise canceling effectiveness varies widely from brand to brand, and even between headsets from the same manufacturer. So if you need a headset that will really do the job you need it to, you need a little more information. Preferably, unbiased information from an independent third party. The good news is, the work’s been done, and the information you need is readily available. An independent, third-party audio research firm conducted a series of rigorous tests of the noise-canceling performance of comparable wired and wireless headsets made by an array of top headset brands.

The results speak for themselves. You can see the complete comparison of corded headsets here, and the Bluetooth comparison here, but let’s take a look at a couple of examples. We’ll start with contact center staples from VXi, Jabra and Plantronics. The tests show that the VXi Passport eliminates 89% of background noise, compared to only 63% for Plantronics’ WH291N and 60% for Jabra’s GN2120. That’s a significant difference! On the Bluetooth wireless side, VXi’s BlueParrott B250-XT+ knocked out a full 95% of background noise—while the Plantronics Voyager Pro+ and Jabra Supreme dealt with only 53% and 52%, respectively.

So if you’re paying for a noise-canceling headset, because you need a headset that eliminates noise, you should be getting a headset that cancels the most noise. And tests show that there’s really no contest. Clearly, the sound choice is VXi.

VXi debuts V150 Wireless Headset and Avaya-ready electronic hook switch at IAUG

You’re going to IAUG Converge 2013, aren’t you? After all, it’s THE show for the Avaya user community. This year’s theme is Powering Global Communications, and the focus is on keeping your company connected. So if your company is an Avaya user, and you’re interested in being better connected (who isn’t?), you really ought to be there.

VXi is going. Keeping people—and companies—connected is pretty much what we’re all about. And as an Avaya DevConnect Technology Partner, we’ve got the compliance-tested hands-free solutions that fit perfectly into your Avaya environment, to keep you connected. And competitive.

Here’s a perfect example. This year, we will be premiering our new V150 Wireless Headset System and EHS. Together, they’re the perfect way to stay wirelessly connected at work. The V150 combines 1.9 GHz DECT technology with 64-bit encryption to give you 300 feet of secure, interference-free freedom. With our advanced noise canceling and superior sound quality, the V150 also delivers better audio than your wired handset—even when you’re a football field away from your desk. When you add the optional EHS (Electronic Hook Switch), you can answer and end calls remotely, with the touch of a button. So you can always stay connected, without having to stay at your desk.

The V150 isn’t the only VXi product we’ll be showing. Most of our contact center and office line will be on display—including the new UC ProSet™ LUX, the first headset with a built-in LED presence indicator, designed around UC status standards.

You’ll want to see it—and us—in Orlando, at booth #732!

 CTIA 2013 THE Mobile Marketplace

Are you headed to CTIA Wireless 2013? VXi will be there, of course. This year’s theme is THE Mobile Marketplace, and—with topics like the Cloud, Big Data Analytics and M2M—it looks like it’s going to be a really big show!

They’re saying CTIA 2013™ advances intelligence for those serious about wireless. That resonates with us, especially because we will be premiering our newest Bluetooth® headset at the show, the VXi VoxStar™.

VXi’s VoxStar is the headset for mobile professionals because it allows you to hear and be heard, everywhere you go, on up to two devices at once. That means you can take an important call wherever you are—the airport, a restaurant, a trade show. This is the headset for people who make things happen. People like you.

Maybe that sounds like bragging, but we put our money where your mouth is. We put the microphone there too, so it works better and people can hear you more clearly. VXi delivers the industry’s best noise reduction—guaranteed. Our advanced noise canceling eliminates 93% of background noise, so VoxStar lets you take care of business no matter how noisy it is around you. We also provide great sound quality by using wideband audio to help ensure accurate communication with fewer misunderstandings. VoxStar also lets you connect two devices at once (multipoint pairing), like your personal and business cell phone, or a cell phone and PC. Plus it streams audio, such as music and navigation (A2DP support), and provides over 7 hours of talk time.

While we’re on the subject, we should mention that we submitted VoxStar for the CTIA Emerging Technology Awards. You can vote online until May 20, and at the show until noon on the 22nd. Winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on the 22nd. We would very much appreciate your vote!

VoxStar isn’t the only wireless VXi headset that will be on display at CTIA. We will also be showcasing our Xpressway™ II, Xpress™, B250-XT+, and B250-XT. So there are plenty of reasons to make a beeline to our booth, #2140.

See you there!

The After-MATS Facts

Posted on Fri, Apr 05, 2013 @ 11:44 AM

The NEW BlueParrott Xpressway II Bluetooth headset was a huge hit at MATS 2013

Twenty-three lucky winners from all across the country came away from MATS
2013 with their very own BlueParrott Xpressway II Bluetooth headset (shown above).

The 2013 Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS) was, as usual, one heck of a show! Over 1,000 exhibitors from 9 countries. Nearly 80,000 attendees—from 70 countries! It was THE heavy-duty event for the heavy-duty trucking industry.

It was a heavy-duty event for VXi, too. Our BlueParrott® Bluetooth® headsets are monster hits with truckers, so we had a never-ending flow of visitors to our little corner of the show floor. People were especially excited about the new Xpressway II™. An amazing number of folks owned (and loved) its predecessor, the Xpressway, and were more than eager to get their hands on our new product. We were happy to oblige, of course. We even gave away one Xpressway II every hour every day of the show. More than 400 people entered to win one, and 23 happy winners from all across the country walked away with an Xpressway II of their very own.

They weren’t the only ones sporting BlueParrott headsets, though. We saw each one of our BlueParrott products on attendees everywhere at the show; our B250-XT+, B250-XT, Xpress and Xpressway—which should come as no surprise, since over 500,000 truckers have made BlueParrott their Bluetooth of choice. Many of them came by the booth every day, with stories of how their trusty BlueParrott blew the competition out of the water.

So it was a great success for us, and a great opportunity for us to get face-to-face with some of our most loyal customers. If you came by to see us, thanks again. And thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for choosing BlueParrott! We’ll see you at MATS 2014!

The Top Five Reasons Contact Centers Love VXi Headsets

Posted on Wed, Mar 27, 2013 @ 06:38 PM

Contact centers love VXi headsets

Contact centers love VXi products. It’s true. It’s understandable, too. Because when we started this company over 23 years ago, our aim was to build a better contact center headset. And though we’ve expanded our vision since then, we’re still in the business of building the best contact center headsets—not just making great products, but making the products contact centers really need and want.

1. We listen. No one knows what you need better than you do. So we pay attention to what you say, and build our headsets to meet your real-world needs. And we keep listening, so we can make changes as your needs change.

2. We keep it simple. Unlike some of our competitors, we won’t make you wade through model after lookalike model, trying to figure out which one might work for you. We keep it simple, with a great product to fit most every need. Need a convertible headset? We’ve got it. A wireless headset? We have one of those, too. VXi makes it easy to find the right headset, and get back to work.

3. We give you more for your money. VXi headsets are all top of the line. Period. So when you buy VXi, you’re getting an exceptional product.  It starts with best-in-class sound quality. VXi headsets feature vastly superior noise-canceling, that eliminates nearly 90% of ambient noise—even in the loudest contact centers. They’re all-day comfortable, too. More durable. And interchangeable with other major brands, so you can maximize your existing investment.

4. We have an excellent warranty. Our products are engineered to handle the harsh reality of contact center use. They typically last for years and years, even in the most demanding contact center environments. But if something does go wrong, we stand behind our corded headsets with a two-year, “no questions asked” warranty

5. We have a generous trade-in policy. We understand that you have a significant investment in your contact center equipment. So when you buy a new VXi corded headset or amplifier, you can trade in your current equipment—even if it’s from another company—and we’ll give you a $5.00 purchase credit for each product you trade in.

We could go on, but you get the picture. Our contact center customers love VXi. You will, too.

Going to MATS? Take the "Xpressway"!

Posted on Thu, Mar 14, 2013 @ 11:27 AM

Take the 'Xpressway' to MATS

If you’re headed out to the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, you’re not going to want to miss the VXi/BlueParrott™ booth, #16073 (in the North Wing).

Why? Well, first of all, we will be showcasing our NEWEST BlueParrott headset, the Xpressway™ II. The Xpressway II is our next-generation Bluetooth™ headset that gives road warriors everything they’ve been asking for—in an extremely light weight (0.6 oz.), comfortable package. Xtreme Noise Suppression™, to wipe out 94% of background noise. Wideband audio, for clear, natural sound quality. A2DP, for use with other Bluetooth-enabled audio devices. Over seven hours of talk time per charge. And a choice of three wearing styles, on the ear, over the head and behind the neck.

Sounds great, right? You’ll like the sound of this, too. We will be giving away one Xpressway II every hour at MATS. All you have to do is answer ten simple questions. Some will be specifically about BlueParrott products, like “What features on your Bluetooth headset can you not live without?” Others will be about Bluetooth headsets in general, like “What new features on your BlueParrott® Bluetooth headset would you like to see?"

Nothing difficult, and there are no wrong answers. We just want your input. And in return, you’ll be entered to win an Xpressway II of your very own. With one being given away every hour the show floor is open, you’ll have plenty of chances to win.

We told you that you wouldn’t want to miss it. That’s booth #16073, in the North Wing.

See you at MATS!
